When to use a Screw Feeder

If a product does not flow and is extremely thick or even solid, work needs to be done to get it prepared for the pump inlet. A screw feeder system would typically feed the product via a conveyor into the screw or augers where it would be processed and fed into the pump.

Heavy Duty Butter Pump

Perhaps the most challenging duty we have encountered to date was the processing of 25kg chilled butter blocks. Our customer, who was using high volumes of butter to manufacture biscuits and cookies, needed a screw feeder to convert 25kg frozen butter blocks to spaghetti-like, soft strands via an extruder. The processed butter was piped 50 metres to 5 different outlets and was deposited directly into mixing vessels.

• High capacity positive displacement pump

Depending upon your requirements, a blender, extruder, portioner and / or Ultrasonic knife device for cutting can be added at the outlet or outlets.
