A Circumferential Piston pump is a type of positive displacement rotary pump.

Circumferential Piston Pump
The pistons are in the form of two rotor wings which rotate around the circumference of the chambers within the pump housing to provide a large sealing surface which minimizes slip.
As the pump rotary motion engages, the rotors mesh and unmesh to cause a partial vacuum at the suction port and generate pressure at the discharge or outlet port. Fluid enters the pump and is transported around the channel by the rotor wings and is displaced as the rotor wings re-mesh and this generates pressure at the discharge port.
Pump output is directly proportional to speed and the direction of flow is reversible.
The reliability of the positive displacement circumferential piston pump has been proven over many decades and its robust and easy to clean design make it ideal for sanitary food and beverage manufacture. Using gentle action on shear-sensitive liquids or slurries with soft solids makes this pump ideal for all areas of food processing, beverage and cosmetic manufacturing.
